Horse in Minecraft: Sometimes Minecraft’s survival world can be frustrating. It’s not because there are so many confusing biomes, monsters, and hard-to-find Minecraft ore.
Most players have difficulty traveling in the vast Minecraft worlds. You can teleport to Minecraft and use an Elytra in later stages of the game.
We have an alternative solution if you don’t want to cheat or wait until the later stages.
It is easy to train a horse in Minecraft and have a reliable vehicle. Horses in Minecraft can be found quickly, are fast, and offer additional advantages when it comes to combat.
You can also search for one that matches your Minecraft skin. Let’s not forget to learn how to tame horses in Minecraft.
Tame a Horse in Minecraft 2023
There are many Steps involved in taming and using a Minecraft horse. You can explore each part of the Process using the table below.
How to Find a Horse in Minecraft?
You can find regular overworld horses in these biomes.
- Sunflower Plains
- Savanna Plateau
- Windswept Savanna
You can find up to 6 horses at once making them an extremely reliable ally. All horses born in a group will have the same color, but they are all of the same colors.
You will need to search for another group if you desire variety.
Types of Horses in Minecraft
Minecraft offers seven breeds or types of horses in terms of color:
- Dark Brown
But because of their markings, as per Minecraft Wikipedia, we can obtain 35 different variants of a regular horse.
However, these variations are cosmetic and do not affect the horses’ abilities.
How to Tame a Horse in Minecraft?
It is very similar to real-life to tame horses in Minecraft. The horse must be trained to accept you as its owner.
These steps will help you to train a horse in Minecraft.
1. To distinguish it From the rest, first look for a horse. You can choose any type of horse as long as the horse is an adult.
2. Next, click on the right-click key or secondary action key to mount your horse. The horse will soon get angry and push you away.
3. You must mount the horse again if it pushes you away. This process must be repeated until hearts appear above the horse’s head, and then it will accept you.
Temper is the acceptance rate for horses towards players in Minecraft. It is randomly assigned on a scale from 0 to 99.
It is a simple rule of thumb: the more temper you have, the easier it will be to Control the horse.
The temper of a player who rides a horse increases by 5 points. It can take some time to manage multiple horses in Minecraft unless you’re really lucky.
You must also tame horses to allow them to ride, breed, and return to their home. You can make a horse calmer by giving it food.
What Does a Horse Eat in Minecraft?
Horses are more flexible than most tameable mobs in that they can eat a wide variety of food options.
These items can be fed to Minecraft horses:
- Golden Apple
- Golden Carrot
After the horse has been tamed you can feed it hay bale. The best food for healing a horse is hay bale.
A horse can be forced to breed by eating golden carrots and golden apples.
If you don’t want to have a baby horse, it is best to eat non-golden foods while you are taming them.
The golden apple can improve your horse’s temper by 10 points. This is more than any other food.
How to Ride a Horse in Minecraft?
I enjoy riding horses in video games so I was excited to learn that you can ride a horse in Minecraft.
This is what I have written about in my instructable Minecraft Animals/Mobs.
However, I wanted to dedicate an Instructable on how to (tame) and ride a horse using Minecraft.
What You Need
A Saddle is all that’s required to ride a horse. You cannot make a saddle. They are sometimes found in chests all over the globe.
You can also put Horse Armor onto horses (not donkeys or mules). Also, this can’t be crafted.
A Chest can be attached to a Mule or Donkey to hold your supplies. However, a Horse cannot have a chest.
You must First tame a horse before you can ride it.
To tame the Horse, you can click on it while not holding an object. Most likely, the Horse will buck at you.
This should be repeated until the Horse is happy. You can feed it Horse Apples or Wheat, Golden Carrots, Wheat, and a Hay Bale to keep it under control.
Now, your horse is under control.
Riding Your Horse
After your Horse has been tamed, it won’t buck at you anymore. However, you will need to saddle it so that you can control its movements.
You can either get on the Horse or point towards it. Then you can open your inventory menu.
This will bring up your inventory as well as the Horse’s menu. Move the saddle to the place where it is marked. You can now ride.
You can also add armor to your Horse. It is located right below the saddle.
Water that is more than one block deep is not safe for riding. You will get thrown off your Horse and it will drown.
You should use a lead to pull your Horse from the water so it can be ridden again.
Horses can walk on flat ground and 1 block high blocks. Although they are said to be able to jump high, I have only been able to get mine to leap 2 blocks.
To achieve this, hold down the spacebar until the action bar (above all your items) reaches a high point (see image).
Your horse will then jump if you let go. Do not forget to move forward simultaneously.
A chest can only be used on a Donkey, Mule, or Mule. It can be equipped by simply placing it on the Mule or Donkey as you would any other item.
The chest cannot be retrieved from the Donkey/Mule, unlike saddles or Horse Armor. It is necessary to kill the Donkey to obtain it.
Tame and Ride a Horse in Minecraft Today
Now you can manage a Minecraft horse. This new friend will allow you to easily explore the best Minecraft biomes.
We won’t recommend that you ride your horse into the nether portal due to the presence of lava at every turn. If you don’t want to follow our advice, make sure to splash Fire Resistance onto your horse.
Although you will always find more horses, taming them is not the easiest or fastest process. Regular horses can get tedious after a while.
To summon zombies or skeleton horses, you can use the best Minecraft commands.
Skeleton horses can be found in the game, but they have a low spawn rate. Zombie horses are not available in the survival world.
They can only be accessed by commands. What other mobs should you consider riding in Minecraft? Comment below!
